Camp Kennebec Programs
Camp Kennebec offers a unique and individually designed program to meet the needs of our campers. Daily emphasis is placed on social skills, friendships, accomplishments, setting personal goals and living within the camping community. Our individualized program is a mix of structured camp activities, group activities and personal interests. This ensures that each camper has the opportunity to experience new adventures, have fun and gain new friendships. Our All Camp Activities consist of a day trip to Kingston for a meal out and a movie. We also have theme days, carnival day, campfires, provincial park outings, Saturday night movie and weekly dances. All Camp Activities give campers the opportunity to interact with the other cabins and all age groups.

Individualized Program
This program is what sets Kennebec apart from other camps. Within the registration forms, campers can choose their specific areas of interest. Our Program Director creates an individual schedule for each camper, utilizing their choices. Every three days, campers have the opportunity to choose a variety of new activities to master. They are encouraged to pick activities that they are comfortable with, but also activities that challenge them. This allows them to be autonomous, master a skill set and experience success.

Academic Tutoring
Our Academic Program offers tutoring for campers with a 1:1 ratio. The campers who participate are paired up with an educational professional, certified teacher or trained tutor. This is available at no extra cost and is a great opportunity for campers to work on retaining the skills they acquired throughout the school year while they are away at camp, thus allowing them a smooth transition into September. There is an opportunity for caregivers to provide specific activities they would like their child to work on over their stay at Kennebec. If campers do not choose to participate in academics, they are provided with equally important skill development, leadership, and outdoor educational pursuits that encourage social interaction and skill building.

LIT and Intern Program
Kennebec's Leadership in Training (LIT) program looks for teen campers who have an interest in learning how to organize activities and assist counselors. They are guided through a variety of workshops and hands on training that allows them to experience success in areas of leadership. This program is specifically designed for LITs to achieve team building skills, respect for others, life skills, social skills and employability skills. The Intern program is for mature campers who want to gain further independence, employability and life skills. This is fostered by giving campers responsibilities in daily life at camp. This includes helping in food preparation, laundry, mail room and serving.
